Most American Car Is Jeep® Cherokee

Most people know which car brands are based here in the U.S. and which aren’t. However, just because a manufacturer has its headquarters here, that does not mean all of its vehicles are produced here. If you want your new car to be truly made in America, you should buy the 2019 Jeep® Cherokee. For the second year in a row, the Jeep® Cherokee was named the most American car

Each year, Cars.com analyzes new vehicles to determine not only where they are assembled, but how much of their individual parts are made in America. Cars.com considers five factors for its American-Made Index (AMI):

  • Assembly location
  • Origin of parts
  • Country of origin for its engine(s)
  • Country of origin for its transmission(s)
  • Number of Americans employed at the factory level

The Cherokee is assembled in Belvidere, Illinois and has engines and transmissions built in the U.S., as well. The Jeep® Wrangler held the top spot in 2017, giving FCA a three-year streak for producing the most American-made vehicles.

The Cherokee is available in eight trim levels: Latitude, Latitude Plus, Altitude, Limited, High Altitude, Trailhawk®, Overland, and Trailhawk® Elite. It is also available with three engine options so buyers can choose how much power they really need under the hood. Ford Named One of the Best Employers for Veterans

Serving in the military is a big sacrifice. However, after leaving the military or coming home from a deployment, it can sometimes be difficult to return to “normal” life. Having a good work environment can help a lot. Recently, Military Times recognized the best businesses and organizations that support and hire veterans. The Ford and Lincoln dealership network was included as one of the best employers for veterans.

“This recognition is a credit to our ongoing efforts with connecting transitioning military and veterans with great job opportunities at Ford and Lincoln dealerships across the country,” said retired U.S. Army Colonel Vanessa Benson, Ford Motor Company Military and Veteran Initiatives. “Our commitment to our veterans is a core part of what makes us Built Ford Proud.”

Ford was one of only two automakers included on the list and ranked 78th overall among for-profit organizations. The dealership network was recognized for its good military spouse policies, which give military spouses flexible hours, the ability to work remotely, and transfer to other locations because of military service.

Ford also earned a four-star rating for its history of veteran on-boarding. This refers to how a company trains and orients a veteran into the workplace.

Here at Kevin’s Royal Auto in Cooperstown, we’re proud to be a part of these efforts by Ford to appreciate and sustain the men and women who have given so much to our country.
